Thomas More Society Files Appeal to Defend Parents' Rights to Notification Before a Daughter's Abortion
(March
31, 2008) The Thomas
More Society filed
a notice of appeal
with the United States
Seventh Circuit Court
of Appeals today asking
that two Illinois State's
Attorneys be permitted
to voice their concerns
regarding the rights
of parents to be informed
about their minor daughters'
abortion plans.
In 2006, the Thomas More Society and its Special Counsel, Paul Linton, conceived a plan to overturn the 13-year-old injunction on the Illinois Parental Notice Act. Now, that plan is in progress, and the fate of Illinois families is now in the hands of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
