Pro-Life Pharmacies Catching On
As pharmaceutical companies more
aggressively develop contraceptive
and abortifacient products, pro-life
pharmacists are saying "enough
is enough." And now at least
one big media outlet is taking
notice.
"Not only are pharmacies going pro-life, they are finding that there is a market for their approach and philosophy," candidly noted the Washington Post June 16 in a page one story. The Post, one of the nation's most influencial newspapers, recalled recent controversies (See TMS story) over pharmacists refusing to fill prescriptions for birth control pills, morning-after pills and other forms of birth control. Drugstores that are going pro-life are among a "small but growing number" of such businesses who do so. The paper said that pharmacists believe that such methods can cause what amounts to an abortion and that contraception promotes promiscuity, divorce, abortion and other social problems.
The paper quoted Thomas More Society Chief Counsel Tom Brejcha, who said, "The United States was founded on the idea that people act on their conscience — that they have a sense of right and wrong and do what they think is right and moral."
