The Thomas More Society is co-sponsoring “Made in His Image: Human Dignity in a Secular World,” the Annual Bishops’ Conference and Banquet in Omaha Nebraska September 22-24, 2016. This is a collaborative project designed to equip medical professionals and lay people to address some of the most important issues of our time, including those involving human sexuality, gender identity, and the threats to human life at all stages of development. The conference provides continuing medical education credits. Other sponsors include the Catholic Medical Association, the Nebraska Catholic Conference and the Archdiocese of Omaha.
Thomas More Society attorneys Prof. Ed Morse, Andrew Bath and Matt Heffron will speak on Saturday September 24 in a panel discussion including Greg Schleppenbach, the Associate Director of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities. Their talk, entitled “Coercion and Human Dignity” will cover Iegal coercion in the medical context, including the HHS mandate, the recent HHS Healthcare “Nondiscrimination” Regulations, case studies and proposed legislation.
