Thomas More Society Seeks Information on Stroger Hospital Trafficking in Fetal Body Parts

FOIA request seeks evidence of Cook County Hospital’s involvement  in Planned Parenthood’s inhumane activities

(Chicago, IL – July 21, 2015) – Thomas More Society has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with Stroger Cook County Hospital, seeking to uncover details of its involvement in the trafficking of fetal body parts. The FOIA was prompted by references to Stroger Hospital as a well-known source for fetal body parts by Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior executive with Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Dr. Nucatola was featured in recent videos discussing Planned Parenthood’s sale of fetal body parts with two potential “buyers” that have recently generated widespread media attention.

“The sale of aborted fetal body parts by Planned Parenthood is bad enough, but the potential that a taxpayer-funded public facility may also be trafficking in body parts is outrageous,” said Peter Breen, Thomas More Society Special Counsel. “Public resources should not be used in connection with the harvesting and sale of aborted children’s body parts. Our FOIA request to Stroger Hospital will hopefully get to the bottom of whether Stroger is involved in this ghoulish practice.”

The Center for Medical Progress produced a transcription of its first full-length video investigation on Planned Parenthood’s sale of fetal remains. In that video, Dr. Nucatola recommends to the potential “buyers” that they look into Stroger Hospital, “the largest family planning provider in the Mid-West.”

Thomas More Society’s FOIA request, filed on behalf of Illinois Right to Life, demands that Stroger provide information relating to its abortion policies and practices, and specifically in regards to the sale of fetal remains.
