THOMAS MORE SOCIETY URGES ALVIN BRAGG TO REFILE CHARGES: Thomas More Society attorneys have responded to Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s public apology to Savannah Craven Antao, with a letter offering alternative paths to secure justice.
Craven Antao was assaulted earlier this year by Brianna Rivers while discussing abortion and expressing her pro-life beliefs on a public sidewalk in New York. The entire attack was caught on camera, yet Bragg’s office allowed the assault to go unpunished, first downgrading the charge against Rivers to a misdemeanor before missing a key deadline that led to the dismissal of the case.
“This is Bragg’s moment of truth,” said Chrisopher Ferrara, TMS Senior Counsel, “Actions speak louder than words. Receiving the felony charge and pursuing a hate crime charge would show real accountability and send a message that political violence has no home here. We believe there is a reasonable legal basis for doing so.”
Thomas More Society awaits a response from Alvin Bragg’s office and will meanwhile continue to pursue a civil case against Brianna Rivers.

THIS WEEK – PETER BREEN TO ARGUE APPEAL IN PREGNANCY CENTER SPEECH CASE BEFORE 9TH CIRCUIT: This Thursday, Peter Breen, TMS Executive Vice President & Head of Litigation, will argue before the Ninth Circuit court in Culture of Life Family Services v. Rob Bonta, the federal lawsuit to protect Culture of Life Family Services’ (COLFS) First Amendment right to share about and promote Abortion Pill Reversal, a safe and effective protocol that makes it possible for women to reverse the effects of the first chemical abortion pill.
COLFS is a Catholic medical clinic dedicated to promoting the heath and dignity of every human being, including the preborn. Dr. George Delgado, MD, the medical director of the clinic, pioneered the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol, which has saved an estimated 7000+ preborn lives, offering a hopeful second chance at a future unscarred by abortion.
Thomas More Society argues that women should have the right to access APR should they change their minds amid a chemical abortion and want to keep their baby.
Stay tuned for updates later this week in this important case.
FDA APPROVES GENERIC ABORTION PILL: Last Tuesday, the FDA approved a new generic version of the abortion pill, mifepristone, produced by Evita Solutions, a privately held company that “believes all people should have access to safe, affordable, high-quality, effective and compassionate abortion care.” A spokesperson for HHS commented, “Generic applicants are not required to submit independent evidence proving safety and effectiveness. HHS is conducting a study of the reported adverse effects of mifepristone to ensure the FDA’s risk mitigation program for the drug is sufficient to protect women from unstated risks.”
Thomas More Society calls on Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, and HHS to make good on their commitment to protect women and fulfill their promise to conduct a careful and rigorous review of the abortion pill.
The abortion pill is responsible for 63% of abortions done in the United States, has resulted in the deaths of thousands of preborn children, and caused immeasurable harm to women. Expanding the supply of abortion pills will harm Americans.
