Thomas More Society Attorney to be Honored for Extraordinary Pro-Life Work

Peter Breen to Receive Project Love 2016 Caritas Award

The Thomas More Society is pleased to announce that Peter Breen, Thomas More Society Special Counsel, will be honored at the Project Love 2016 Caritas Awards, on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at the Hilton Hotel in west suburban Lisle. Breen is receiving this recognition from Illinois Citizens for Life for his extraordinary pro-life work with Woman’s Choice Services, the Thomas More Society, and as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives.

“This award could not go to a more deserving individual,” said Tom Brejcha, president and chief counsel of the Thomas More Society. “Peter’s tireless devotion to the sanctity of human life – in his personal, professional and civic life – is remarkable.  It is often said that one person cannot change the world, but Peter, with his beloved wife and staunch ally Margie at his side, comes as close as anyone I know to making an important, significant difference in so many lives,” remarked Brejcha.

In his role with the Thomas More Society, Breen is defending David Daleiden, the creator of the Planned Parenthood exposé videos. He has argued on behalf of those who advocate the sanctity of human life in local, state and federal courts.  Breen is regularly consulted by the media in regard to religious freedom and First Amendment rights issues.

In 2005, Breen founded the Woman’s Choice Services crisis pregnancy centers in Illinois and the Project Gabriel ministry, which have since served thousands of pregnant women in need and their children. He is also serving his first term as the Illinois State Representative for the 48th District, which encompasses Lombard, Glen Ellyn and the eastern half of Wheaton, in DuPage County.

Breen will be presented the award at Project Love’s 8th Annual Rise and Dine Breakfast Benefit at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Lisle, IL.  Project Love is the charitable outreach of Illinois Citizens for Life Trust and has given over 1,250 emergency financial grants to assist pregnant women and new mothers over the last 20 years. These grant recipients are referred to Project Love by pregnancy centers throughout Illinois. Proceeds from this annual breakfast fundraiser serve to finance Project Love as the program brings help and hope to women in need.
